Efficiency and Optimum Performance of High-Precision Current Sensors

For electronic systems, it is important for high-precision current sensors to differentiate between efficiency and optimum performance. Some people focus on efficiency and forget that even if a system is very efficient, it may not be cost-effective because it cannot respond to applications as needed during challenging operations. Only by monitoring power usage in real time can you be confident in both during operation.
 
There is no precision without feedback, and it is impossible to compete today without making your product work as precisely as possible. Current sensing can provide the critical performance information that an embedded intelligent system needs to manage itself in a non-intrusive manner because it does not have to be a major infrastructure element in your design.
 
The migration from passive systems to "smart" solutions with intelligent feedback and control has brought significant operational improvements. In general, power efficiency and motor drive open-loop current sensing accuracy are very beneficial for improving operation over temperature. Growing and evolving Industry 4.0 demands and processes have shifted the goal to improving performance at temperatures up to 85°C. 
 
In the field of advanced solar inverters, the system achieves a higher level of accuracy over the temperature range. Likewise, applications that require extremely wide dynamic range and very good accuracy and precision will require higher accuracy over temperature, and can implement a single closed loop current sensing system instead of two open loop current sensors to track lower and higher current.
